On a turbocharged engine, compressed air heats up, and hot air costs power. A performance intercooler cools this air more effectively before it enters the engine.
The result: more consistent power, especially during repeated acceleration or in hot weather. We fit it in our Luxembourg workshop and match it to your remap.
The intercooler (or air-to-air heat exchanger) is a radiator placed between the turbo and the engine. It cools the air compressed by the turbo. Cooler air is denser: it contains more oxygen, which promotes better combustion.
A performance version offers a larger heat-exchange surface than the original part. It concerns forced-induction engines, which mainly means cars: the vast majority of motorcycles don't have one.
